Highly prized for its affordable estate homes while being centrally located to San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles County, Riverside County is no longer considered just a bedroom community for these areas. Along with San Bernardino County, Riverside County comprises what is referred to as the Inland Empire.
In 2006 the Riverside County population well surpassed 2 million residents which include eight American Indian Reservations.
Ontario International Airport is located in Riverside County as well as March Reserve Air Force Base and 12 other airports. County highlights include the wineries of Temecula Valley, desert resorts in Palm Springs and environs, shopping at new destinations such as Victoria Gardens and Ontario Mills.
With an average summer temperature of 90 degrees Riverside County new home residents live in what is geographically the desert. Most of Joshua Tree National Park is located in the county and Riverside County is bordered by the Colorado River and Arizona.
